ASSISTANT MANAGER - LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager - Legal and Compliance to join our organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing our legal and regulatory compliance, providing sound legal advice, and ensuring the company operates within the law at all times.

Candidate Profile:

Academic & Professional Qualifications:

  • Attorney-at-Law with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of a valid Notary License is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in the corporate sector handling legal and compliance matters.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent command of both English and Sinhala (spoken and written).
  • Superior business writing skills, with the ability to draft and review contracts, reports, and legal documentation with precision.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and general computer literacy.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to go the extra mile and support business units with legal insights and risk mitigation.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with other departments and senior leadership.
  • A strong understanding of local laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
