We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our sister company The SLIIT- Hemas Allied Health Institute, as Technical Officer attached to School of Biomedical Sciences.
The SLIIT- Hemas Allied Health Institute, a dynamic collaboration between the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and Hemas Holdings PLC, is at the forefront of advancing education in Allied Health Sciences. We are dedicated to provide a comprehensive range of academic and professional qualifications, catering to the fields of Nursing, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences etc.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Biomedical Science Laboratory, with a primary focus on supporting undergraduate practical sessions.
- Provide advanced technical expertise in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting specialized biomedical equipment, such as centrifuges, microscopes, spectrophotometers, and PCR machines.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and biosafety regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Manage inventory of reagents, chemicals, consumables, and equipment, and coordinate procurement processes and vendor communications.
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of laboratory procedures, standard operating protocols (SOPs), and quality assurance practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc in Biomedical Sciences/ Biology or any other relevant field.
- One to two years of work experience after obtaining the educational qualification will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
