THE JOB

  • Understand the strategic goals and operations of the bank to align the operational risk assessment and management.
  • Develop and maintain an effective Operational Risk Management Framework within the Integrated Risk Management Framework.
  • Develop the Operational risk policies and guidelines as needed in line with the risk assessment framework.
  • Deploy Operational risk assessment tools and methodologies and take steps to maintain a vibrant operational risk mitigation culture in the Bank.
  • Improve the Operational risk management process in the bank through proactively identifying and managing key risks.
  • Provide early warning signals of deterioration in the bank’s internal control system based on analytics, internal and external incidents.
  • Independent risk assessment of policies, processes, business / operating practices & internal controls, new systems and applications introduced by the bank, as per the Integrated Risk Management framework and recommend improvements to mitigate any identified risks.
  • Implement, drive and improve the Technology Risk Management and Resilience Framework of the Bank.
  • Oversee the Business Continuity Plan and Crisis Management Plan of the Bank.
  • Develop and update periodically a robust methodology for conducting stress tests.
  • Be up to date on best practices with respect to operational risk assessment and management locally as well as globally.

THE PERSON

  • Possess at least 10-15 years’ experience in banking with exposure to multiple functions consisting of business and support functions.
  • Degree/ Professional qualification in Banking and/or Finance from a recognized Institute.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager), PRM (Professional Risk Manager), certifications on technology Risk Resilience or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence Senior Management.

This position is at Senior Manager/Chief Manager Level.
