Finance Manager – KG Group of Companies
Position Summary
KG Group of Companies — a well-renowned establishment in Sri Lanka with a rich history — is looking to aggressively expand its real estate and renewable energy portfolio, positioning itself to become one of the largest real estate players in Sri Lanka and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization and take ownership of a dynamic finance function.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager who is operationally strong, detail-oriented, and hands-on. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, entering and reviewing double entries in SAP, performing group consolidations, and filing all statutory tax returns with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements ensuring full integrity of accounts.
- Post, verify, and reconcile double entries in SAP for income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform Intercompany reconciliations to ensure all inter-company balances tally between entities.
- Prepare group consolidated accounts across multiple entities.
- Prepare and file corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, WHT, accurately and on time through the IRD e-filing system.
- Ensure proper coding and classification of expenses, income, capital projects, and investments between P&L and balance sheet.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
- Monitor rental, utility, and solar billing processes and ensure accurate invoicing and debtor follow-up.
- Identify discrepancies, challenge unusual movements in accounts, and implement controls to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare Monthly Management accounts and commentary at a consolidated level and submit to management.
- Stay updated on Sri Lankan tax laws and IRD procedures, and assist in effective tax planning.
To be a good fit, the following statements will apply to you:
- Fully or part-qualified in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in operational finance, with exposure to tax compliance, audit finalization, and consolidated accounts.
- Hands-on experience in SAP or a similar ERP, with the ability to post and review detailed entries.
- Proficient with IRD’s online filing systems and statutory deadlines.
- Strong analytical mindset to question and validate numbers, not just process them.
- Well organized, detail-focused, and able to work independently while managing a small team.
