Internship – Legal, Regulatory & Corporate Affairs

Period – 3 to 6 months

The Challenge

We are looking for a dynamic individual with an attitude to learn and go extra mile for our Legal team. You will be exposed to Corporate Affair related activities with external and internal stakeholders. Opportunity to learn;

  • Support and carry out related functions for provision of legal advisory and contracts preparation services pertaining to corporate matters and related business activities
  • Support regulatory functions to ensure the statutory compliance of legal rules, regulations, guidelines & circulars of the respective Regulatory Authorities
  • Provide legal support services regarding contractual activities including drafting, vetting, reviewing contracts, conduct negotiations and completion of contractual agreements or arrangements including site acquisition agreements
  • Assist the Corporate Affairs function by maintaining required databases for legal Agreements and documentation
  • Assist corporate functions with respect to reviewing general corporate agreements such as memoranda of understanding, non-disclosure agreements, shareholder agreements, shares sales & purchase agreements, joint-venture and alliance (bilateral and multilateral) agreements
  • Act as key record keeping and monitoring liaison for the Company documentation, physically and digitally
  • Support legal functions to liaise & coordinate with external solicitors in respect of all legal issues of the Company
  • Assist implementing preventive law strategies, policies, and compliance programs
  • Ensure effective compliance with respective country Communications Acts and sub-regulations
  • Support all functions carried out by the corporate affairs division including corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, preferably with alignment to the business / services provided and Corporate Communications

Requirements of the Role

  • L.L.B. Degree or currently completing 2nd or 3rd year Bar examinations at Law College Sri Lanka
  • Experience in a similar capacity would be an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge of local laws and regulations
  • Strong drafting and vetting skills
  • Some level of proficiency in domestic telecommunications regulations

Allowance: An attractive allowance above the market standards will be offered.
