SENIOR EXECUTIVE – MERCHANDISING & PRODUCT CATEGORY MANAGEMENT

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for products, markets, and consumer insights? We are looking for a Senior Executive – Merchandising & Product Category Management to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the success of our product ranges by aligning end-market requirements with internal strategies. You will collaborate closely with product and sales teams to plan and manage product assortments, maintain optimal inventory levels across all channels, and ensure timely market execution.

This position plays a critical role in analyzing market trends, understanding consumer behavior, and supporting the business through effective product planning and supplier collaboration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement plans to meet sales and profit goals
  • Research consumer needs and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Optimize product mix for better sales and profitability
  • Secure favorable pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and cost
  • Align plans with other teams like marketing, sales, and supply chain
  • Monitor KPIs and report category performance
  • Identify new product ideas and areas for improvement and growth

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed relevant degree or certificate
  • Excellent written and communication skills in both Sinhala and English
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of work experience in relevant field
  • Strategic Thinking and Planning
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing market data, sales trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Negotiation and Relationship Management
  • Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet work demands
