About the Role:
Quest Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team at our Wattala office. This is a full-time, office-based role that supports the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of journal entries and maintaining accurate general ledger records
- Preparation of monthly Profit and Loss Statements and other financial reports
- Managing Accounts Payable (processing supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations)
- Managing Accounts Receivable (raising invoices, following up payments, and reconciliations)
- Assisting in monthly and year-end closing procedures
- Supporting audits and financial reviews as required
- Performing any other finance-related administrative duties as needed
- Hours 6 am to 2.30 pm
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or currently pursuing)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar accounting role preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks will be an advantage)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
