TEACHER OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) – JUNIOR SCHOOL –

The British School in Colombo is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Information Communication Technology (ICT) – Junior School to join our team from August 2026.
YOUR ROLE
- Plan and deliver engaging, skill-based ICT lessons aligned with the Junior School curriculum.
- Teach core ICT skills including coding, computational thinking, digital literacy, online safety, and multimedia.
- Use a range of digital tools and technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving and innovation through hands-on, practical activities.
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in ICT.
- Collaborate with class teachers to integrate ICT across the curriculum.
- Promote safe, responsible and ethical use of technology.
- Support school events, ICT initiatives and digital learning projects.
- Organise and run ICT-related extra-curricular activities or clubs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Holds a Degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or a related field.
- Has a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
- Has proven experience teaching ICT in a Junior School setting.
- Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching ICT to young learners.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Is creative, enthusiastic and able to inspire and engage children.
- Is collaborative, adaptable and committed to high standards of learning.
- Has excellent ICT skills and a good understanding of current technologies and trends in education.
