Manager / Assistant Manager – Tour Operations

OXO Trips is a technology-driven 'Destination Management Company (DMC)' specialising in inbound tourism to Sri Lanka. Backed by a well-established software services group, we combine innovation with personalized service to deliver exceptional travel experiences.

As part of our expansion, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as Manager/ Assistant Manager – Tour Operations.

Scope of Work

  • Designing and developing creative tour packages tailored for different markets
  • Liaising with service providers (hotels, transport, guides, excursions, activities) and handling contracting
  • Managing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth execution of all tours and group travel
  • Coordinating with sales & marketing teams on pricing, proposals, and product development
  • Overseeing reservations, confirmations, and travel documentation
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
  • Monitoring tour budgets, costs, and supplier payments
  • Ensuring high service quality standards and customer satisfaction
  • Training and guiding operations staff/assistants as required

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding and proven experience in handling group and FIT (Free Independent Traveler) tours
  • Established contacts with accommodation, transport, and other service providers in the travel industry
  • Excellent communication, PR, and negotiation skills (both local and international)
  • Good knowledge of Sri Lanka’s destinations, attractions, and tourism trends
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while ensuring service excellence
  • Familiarity with travel booking systems/operations software will be an added advantage
  • Commitment, leadership skills, and ability to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Fluency in English (both spoken & written); additional foreign languages will be an added advantage
