What you need to do
- Conduct comprehensive damage assessments (visual and technical) upon vehicle arrival to identify structural and cosmetic repair requirements.
- Prepare detailed repair estimates (labor and parts) and submit them to insurance companies for prompt approval.
- Coordinate with insurance surveyors for site inspections, ensuring all damage is accurately documented to minimize supplementary claims.
- Advise customers on the complexities of accident repairs, explaining the difference between structural, mechanical, and cosmetic damage.
- Communicate precise repair descriptions to the Bodyshop Technical Foreman to ensure painters and denters understand the required scope of work.
- Invoice and collect payments for insurance deductibles or customer-pay repairs before vehicle release.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aftersales customer care, with a specific focus on bodyshop/ accident repair coordination.
- Negotiation skills: Ability to effectively negotiate repair scopes and labor rates with insurance surveyors.
- Technical literacy: Ability to interpret structural damage reports and paint mixing requirements.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous in documenting damages and verifying the quality of body/paint work.
- Empathy: Ability to handle customers who may be distressed following a vehicle accident.
