Transport Manager
Araliya Packaging Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (APL), a leading manufacturer in the nonwoven and packaging industry, is seeking a highly organized, dynamic, and result-oriented Transport Manager to lead and manage the company's transport operations efficiently. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, fleet management expertise, and the ability to ensure smooth transportation operations while maintaining cost control, compliance, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the company's entire transport and fleet operations.
- Plan and coordinate daily vehicle schedules, dispatch operations, and delivery routes.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, GPS tracking, and transport efficiency.
- Ensure all company vehicles are maintained according to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Control transport operational costs and improve fleet productivity.
- Handle transport staff including drivers, helpers, and transport coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, transport laws, and company policies.
- Investigate vehicle accidents, breakdowns, and transport-related incidents.
- Coordinate with stores, production, sales, and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain proper documentation related to vehicle licenses, insurance, revenue licenses, and service records.
- Prepare transport performance reports and management updates.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for transport operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Logistics, Transport Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in transport or fleet management, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, route planning, and transport compliance.
- Experience handling large vehicle fleets and transport teams.
- Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage operational challenges effectively.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, transport reporting systems, and GPS tracking systems.
