MANAGER HEALTH, HYGIENE AND SUSTAINABILITY

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Manager - Health, Hygiene and Sustainability HR to join Cinnamon Grand Colombo. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is Sri Lanka's largest hotel owner with a portfolio of 17 Hotels and Resorts in both Sri Lanka and Maldives including the US$ 1.4 Billion investment in Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety, occupational health & safety, and Sustainability policies and procedures across the property.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational health & safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of FSSC 22000, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with international and brand standards, inspections, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure audit readiness.
  • Drive sustainability, ESG, and CSR initiatives to reduce environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and promote responsible business operations.
  • Monitor hygiene and food safety standards across all food preparation, storage, and service areas.
  • Monitor and verify CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs processes to ensure food safety compliance and effective risk control.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs to promote a strong culture of safety, hygiene, and sustainability among employees.
  • Investigate incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor utility consumption, waste management, recycling practices, and environmental performance indicators.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, safety drills, and compliance-related activities.
  • Prepare and maintain food safety, health & safety, ESG, and compliance reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, auditors, and external stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Sustainability management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, occupational health & safety, environmental regulations, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Travelife standards and sustainability reporting.
  • Professional certifications in food safety, health & safety, or sustainability will be an added advantage (NEBOSH/IOSH/lead auditor and HACCP qualifications).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
