Operations & Sales

German Language Training & Overseas Recruitment

Gigalinga Lanka is a premier German language training centre and overseas recruitment agency, preparing Sri Lankan professionals - nurses, apprentices, and skilled workers for careers in Germany. We offer structured C1–B2 language programmes and manage end-to-end recruitment, visa, and placement processes. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead our Operations & Sales division and drive the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Design and execute recruitment campaigns targeting nurses, apprentices, and skilled workers seeking opportunities in Germany
  • Manage the full student acquisition pipeline: lead generation, counselling, enrolment, and contract signing
  • Build and maintain partnerships with recruitment agencies, hospitals, vocational training centres, and corporate clients
  • Set and achieve enrolment targets; monitor and report pipeline performance to the Board
  • Develop marketing materials, social media presence, and outreach strategies to grow brand visibility
  • Represent Gigalinga Lanka at career fairs, institutional events, and recruitment drives across Sri Lanka

Language School Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of German language courses across A1–B2 levels
  • Ensure a minimum 90% student attendance rate and maintain high standards of skills training and learner outcomes
  • Coordinate scheduling, classroom allocation, and academic resources in alignment with the teaching panel
  • Monitor student progress reports and intervene where attendance or performance targets are at risk
  • Liaise with the Academic Lead to ensure curriculum delivery meets Goethe-Institut and OSD examination standards

Compliance & Process

  • Ensure full compliance with SLBFE Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment regulations and licensing requirements
  • Oversee visa applications, work permit processing, and passage management for outbound candidates
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all recruitment files, student records, and regulatory submissions
  • Coordinate with German partner institutions, embassies, and recognition bodies as required
  • Ensure all contracts with students, agents, and employers comply with applicable Sri Lankan and German legal standards

Administration & Reporting

  • Manage and mentor operations, sales, and administrative staff; conduct regular performance reviews
  • Prepare monthly operational and financial performance reports for the Board of Directors
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all departments
  • Manage vendor relationships, office operations, and procurement as required
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, student satisfaction, and placement success rates

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior management or operations leadership role
  • Strong sales acumen with a demonstrated track record of achieving enrolment or revenue targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills in English and Sinhala
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and CRM or student management systems
  • Willingness and ability to commute daily to Thalawathugoda, Western Province

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with German institutions, embassies, or overseas recruitment partners
  • Experience in the recruitment, education, or overseas employment sector
  • Knowledge of the German language (any level) is a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with Goethe-Institut or OSD examination frameworks and certification pathways
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across sales, academics, and administration
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-growing, target-driven environment
