Deputy General Manager – Plant Operations
Varun Beverages Limited, the second largest franchisee of PepsiCo (outside the USA), is a leading beverage manufacturer engaged in bottling and distributing world-renowned brands such as Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Sting and Aquafina. As part of our continued expansion and investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka, we are seeking a high-caliber professional to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end plant operations ensuring optimal production output and efficiency
- Drive manufacturing excellence in line with global beverage standards
- Oversee production planning, quality assurance, engineering maintenance, and EHS compliance
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma)
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards (ISO, HACCP, GMP)
- Develop and lead high-performing cross-functional teams
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of production volume and efficiency targets (OEE)
- Reduction of downtime and improvement of line efficiency
- Quality compliance (Right First Time, defect reduction, customer complaints)
- Cost optimization (conversion cost per unit, wastage control)
- Maintenance effectiveness (MTBF / MTTR improvements)
- Health & Safety performance (zero accident target)
- Inventory and material utilization efficiency
- People development and retention
Personal Profile
- BSc / BTech Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Chemical)
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in the beverage industry
- At least 5 years in a similar senior leadership capacity
- Experience in a multinational environment is highly preferred
- Strong leadership, analytical, and operational excellence capabilities
- Age below 45 years
