Network Systems Analyst (Female/Male)
The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants to serve as the Network Systems Analyst in the Diplomatic Technology Office.
This position is a highly skilled, technical position that provides tier 2 and tier 3 support for all core network (LAN/WAN) and cybersecurity systems and operations support for Embassy Colombo and Embassy Malé. Job holder (JH) performs installation, management and maintenance of LAN/WAN and switching networks. JH will implement Department-appropriate cybersecurity measure on LAN/WAN systems and will monitor, report, and mitigate systems for vulnerabilities. JH trains fellow associates, diagnosis, troubleshooters and plans for procurement replacements and/or modifications to core systems. JH also backs-ups the DT Telecommunication Technicians supporting telephony, radio, AV, satellite, and TV core-systems. JH must be able to workdays, nights and weekends when required.
This position is considered a senior technologists and technical authority on the Diplomatic Technology (DT), Infrastructure (DT/IS) team, responsible for ensuring core IT systems, cyber systems, and infrastructure are available 24/7, 365 days per year, for U.S. Embassy Colombo and U.S. Embassy Malé.
This job supports both Mission Sri Lanka and Mission Maldives and may require travel to provide services.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week.
The monthly gross salary for this position will be Rs. 312,462.16
Qualifications Required:
- Education - A University bachelor’s degree (BS) in one of the following areas: Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, IT Communications is required. Candidate must attach copies of relevant educational certificates
- Licensing/Certifications/Training - Industry recognized and accredited certification in an IT or technology field/specialty. Examples include Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CISA, CISM, BICSI Installer/Technician, Microsoft CCSEA, or an equivalent focus of certification is required. Candidate must attach copies of relevant IT or technology field certifications.
- Prior Work Experience - A minimum of Four (4) years progressively responsible professional/technical experience in an area(s) of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT). Candidate must attach copies of relevant service/work experience certificates.
- Language Proficiency - Fluent knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking ability in English is required. (This will be tested). Fluent knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking ability in Sinhala or Tamil is required.
- Job Knowledge - A detailed understanding of IT systems and administration, which includes proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and server administration, networking, switching, infrastructure, network architecture, Internet Protocols (IP), troubleshooter systems, and project management. A good understanding of industry standards and terminology for/of Microsoft servers, switching, IP, networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Skills & Abilities - Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills. Must have good working skills with MS Office applications, including Excel and Word. Must possess basic understanding of server and network systems, cyber, and infrastructure technology and terminology. Must understand infrastructure/network management, AV and multimedia applications and virtual conferencing (VTC) platforms and understand basic cybersecurity mitigation techniques. Must be able to troubleshoot to resolve technical, operational and maintenance problems. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
