Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective management of the Institute’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting financial planning processes, and strengthening internal controls to achieve organizational efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage and supervise the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Oversee all aspects of taxation, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and payments, including tax filings and other regulatory obligations.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to the Institute's Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance from a recognized university, with full or part professional qualifications from recognized professional bodies such as CA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.
- In-depth understanding of Accounting Standards and taxation.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a service-oriented environment.
- Prior experience in an audit firm is mandatory.
- Previous experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform with minimum supervision.
- Strong team player with the ability to contribute towards developing a high-performing accounting team.
