Job Title: RPA & AI Engineer
Location: Colombo 06 (Hybrid)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled RPA & AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent automation solutions across our enterprise. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Agentic AI systems, and end-to-end workflow automation. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to identify automation opportunities, architect scalable solutions, and drive measurable operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Automation Design & Development
- Design, develop, and deploy RPA bots using leading platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Power Automate)
- Build Agentic AI workflows leveraging LLM-based agents, tool-calling, and multi-step reasoning pipelines
- Architect end-to-end workflow automation integrating RPA, APIs, AI models, and enterprise systems
- Develop intelligent document processing (IDP) pipelines using OCR, NLP, and AI extraction
- AI & Agentic Systems
- Implement autonomous AI agents using any framework
- Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open-source models) into automation workflows
- Design human-in-the-loop (HITL) processes and escalation paths within agentic pipelines
- Optimize agent orchestration, context management, and memory for production-grade reliability
- Integration & Operations
- Integrate automation solutions with ERP, CRM, ITSM, and cloud platforms via REST APIs and webhooks
- Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve deployed bots and AI agents in production environments
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting automation failures to ensure high availability
- Document technical designs, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with business analysts and process owners to map, assess, and prioritize automation use cases
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security standards, and AI governance policies
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the internal automation Center of Excellence (CoE)
- Present solution designs and automation metrics to senior stakeholders
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent work experience with a strong portfolio will also be considered
Experience
- Minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in RPA development and deployment
- Proven track record of delivering production-grade automation solutions at scale
- Demonstrated experience building or working with Agentic AI / LLM-powered workflows
Programming & Integration
- Proficient in Python (primary language for AI/agentic work) and/or C#/.NET for RPA development
- REST API integration, JSON/XML parsing, and webhook-based event handling
- Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and cloud data platforms
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for automation deployments
