Nelly Davies Consulting Engineers – Multiple Vacancies, Jaffna Office
Nelly Davies Consulting Engineers is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, headquartered in Sydney, Australia, with over 45 years of industry experience. The company has been operating in Northern Sri Lanka for more than eight years and invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following vacancies at our Jaffna Office.
1. Structural Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural design and load assessment for residential, industrial and infrastructure projects
- Conduct inspections, investigations and structural assessments
- Manage and deliver projects in liaison with internal team leaders, clients and stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports and asset records
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised university
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with high-rise residential, industrial and infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAP, SAFE (CSI Suite) or similar structural design software
- Strong understanding of international standards and codes of practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach
2. Engineering Draftsperson – Civil / Structural
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce civil, structural and other technical drawings based on architectural and engineering details
- Support engineers and project managers with accurate and timely drafting outputs
- Coordinate drawings using AutoCAD and similar drafting software
Candidate Requirements:
- National Certificate in Technology (NCT) – Draftsperson qualification
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the building or civil engineering sector
- Excellent AutoCAD drafting skills; experience with Civil 3D, Revit or SketchUp is an advantage
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Tamil; knowledge of Sinhala is an advantage
- Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
