SHIFT EXECUTIVE— WEFT KNITTING

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and energetic individual to join Trischel Fabric (Pvt) Ltd as a Shift Executive – Weft Knitting. The role is to supervise and coordinate the Weft Knitting production process during the assigned shift, ensuring that production targets, machine efficiency, fabric quality, and operational standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all Weft Knitting production activities during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved according to the planned schedule and machine allocation.
  • Monitor machine performance, efficiency, downtime, and utilization to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure greige fabric quality standards are maintained at the knitting stage and minimize quality defects and rejections.
  • Coordinate with technical, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve machine and production-related issues promptly.
  • Monitor yarn availability, creel changes, and machine settings to avoid unnecessary production interruptions.
  • Ensure proper style changeovers, machine setup, and sample running activities are carried out efficiently.
  • Analyze production losses, downtime, and quality issues and take corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, production records, efficiency reports, and handover details.
  • Ensure housekeeping, safety standards, and 5S practices are maintained within the production floor.
  • Guide and motivate machine operators and team members to achieve departmental KPIs and operational targets.
  • Maintain effective communication with planning, warehouse, maintenance, quality, and other relevant departments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by the Management.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Textile Engineering or a related field from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Weft Knitting operations or a synthetic circular knitting environment will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of circular knitting machines, knitting parameters, fabric quality, and production processes, with strong analytical and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and effectively manage shift-based operational requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with good verbal and written communication skills in Sinhala and English and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
