Marketing Manager

Role Type

Full-time senior marketing leadership position based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Reporting To

Reports directly to the Director – Institutional Developments at IBS University.

Overall Responsibility

Responsible for leading all marketing operations across IBS University and its affiliated institutions. The Marketing Manager drives student enrolment growth, strengthens the IBS brand presence, and ensures cohesive, consistent marketing communication across all divisions. This role focuses on strategic marketing initiatives, student recruitment campaigns, and stakeholder engagement to enhance the university's visibility and impact.

Key Duties

  • Strategic Marketing: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the university's goals and brand identity.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee advertising campaigns, promotional activities, and market research efforts to expand outreach and attract prospective students.
  • Student Enrolments: Lead student enrolments initiatives (e.g., Open Days, roadshows, career fairs), working closely with the Call Centre and Enrolment teams to convert leads into enrolments.
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain partnerships with secondary schools and community organizations, including coordinating formal partnership agreements (MOAs) and outreach programs with educational leaders.
  • Digital & Social Media: Manage the university's digital marketing channels and social media presence, creating engaging content and tracking analytics to improve engagement and ROI.
  • Team Leadership & Reporting: Supervise and mentor the marketing team, set performance targets (KPIs), provide ongoing training, and oversee marketing budgets and performance reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent IBS University at external events (community events, education expos, networking functions) to increase visibility and strengthen stakeholder and community relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field or CIM Qualification (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 8+ years of marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Expertise: Proven experience in digital marketing, branding, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Customer Focus: Strong background in customer service or sales.
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience in the education sector and public outreach (e.g. public speaking or community engagement) is an advantage.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
