Trainee Plant Operator
STAY Naturals Private Limited focuses on producing essential oils, oleoresins and plant-based active ingredients. Our processing facility is located at Matale, close to some of the most booming regions in the country. Our aim is to provide our customers with high-quality, nutritious products that take advantage of the special organoleptic properties of Sri Lankan spices.
In line with our expansion and growth plans, we are looking for a dynamic individual with a positive attitude to join our team in the capacity of Trainee Plant Operator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate plant equipment and machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures under the guidance of the shift in charge.
- Assist in the monitoring of plant operations, ensuring all processes are running efficiently and that production schedules are met.
- Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance tasks to prevent equipment malfunctions and minimize downtime.
- Help with production planning, setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives, and communicating the same to stakeholders.
- Maintain production output according to specified quality standards to meet daily targets.
- Help prepare and submit daily production reports, monthly reports on performance and progress.
- Organize workflows by assigning responsibilities and preparing work schedules.
- Help oversee and train employees, ensuring adherence to quality standards by all co-workers.
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adhere to quality standards and help ensure their compliance by all co-workers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A diploma in mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred, with a strong background in chemistry.
- Willing to cover shifts in a 24-hour shift roster.
- Have a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for data management and record-keeping.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand, follow, and accurately apply company policies, practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Palapathwela, Matale area.
