The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and its subsidiaries are licensed as Market Institutions by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) under the SEC Act No. 19 of 2021. The CSE Group provides services to a wide array of stakeholders, including the Trading Participants, Listed Entities, Depository Participants and Clearing Members as a capital market infrastructure provider.

JUNIOR EXECUTIVE - CDS DEPOSITORY SERVICES

The Central Depository Systems (CDS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the CSE and is licensed as a market Institution and Depository by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka. You will directly contribute towards ensuring smooth functioning of the Operations of the CDS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle Demat services provided by the depository to CDS account holders, including investor account opening compliance checks, certificate deposits, and securities transfers.
  • Respond to and resolve queries relating to depository services received from investors, stockbrokers, banks, and listed companies.
  • Coordinate and support digital service offerings available through the CDS eService platform, including online account opening, CDS eConnect, SMS alert services, and eStatement facilities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Corporate Action-related services for listed issuers, including dividends, rights issues, mandatory offers, and other related activities.
  • Perform operational and administrative activities, including liaising with stockbrokers and custodian banks to obtain required documentation for various functions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements relating to investor account openings, deposits, transfers, withdrawals, and other Demat account maintenance services.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and new projects undertaken by the division.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge in capital market operations would be advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive and self driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
