Head of Supply Chain (Meethirigala)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and supply chain operations including sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent supply in terms of quality, price, and on-time delivery across all SBUs.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, performance evaluations, and supplier development programs.
  • Oversee inventory planning to maintain optimum stock levels and avoid disruptions across farm, production, and support operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001) and GMP requirements.
  • Monitor budgets, control costs, and provide accurate data for financial planning and reporting.
  • Drive ERP system utilization and ensure strict adherence to SOPs and operational procedures.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team to achieve operational excellence and high performance.
  • Oversee stores management including warehousing, stock accuracy, inventory management compliance and inventory audits.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and manage external relationships with vendors, government authorities, and accreditors.
  • Act as the central control point for procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier coordination.
  • Manage inquiries and complaints pertaining to purchases.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in procurement/supply chain management, preferably in FMCG or agro-livestock sector.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills with a proven track record of cost savings.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Demonstrated competency in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Very high level of business acumen, self-confidence, and deep understanding of changing market dynamics.
