Business Development Executive

Permia Sensing is seeking a Business Development Executive to support its commercial growth within Sri Lanka's coconut and oil palm sectors. This is a field-based business development role suited to an individual with proven sales experience, who is comfortable engaging directly with plantation owners, estate managers, and agribusiness stakeholders, and building a strong pipeline of opportunities through consistent outreach and relationship development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular visits to plantations, estates, and agribusinesses across key regions
- Engage with owners, estate managers, and decision-makers to introduce Permia's solutions
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through structured outreach
- Support the progression of leads through consistent follow-up and relationship management
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings for the senior team
- Maintain accurate records of all activity in the company CRM
- Provide market insights and on-ground feedback to support commercial strategy
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 2–5 years proven experience in sales, business development, or a client-facing role
- Experience in or exposure to the coconut and/or oil palm sector is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English required; Sinhala/Tamil advantageous)
- Comfortable with regular travel and field-based work
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and follow-up discipline
