Vacancy for the position of
Assistant Manager – Legal (Litigation)
Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC operates with the vision to be the market leader in elevating and enriching lives.
The position holder will be responsible for initiating and managing both, new legal proceedings against employee shortages and existing legal cases of direct channel. He / She will also be required to initiate and maintain both new legal proceedings against defalations and existing legal cases of all other indirect channels.
Job Profile
- Representing and protecting the Company’s interests in civil and criminal cases across all judicial levels, including superior and appellate courts.
- Managing and handling all aspects of civil litigation proceedings, including the preparation, review, and filing of Letters of Demand, Plaint, Answers, Affidavits, Motions, and other legal documentation required for the effective conduct of legal actions.
- Executing writs and ensuring compliance with court orders through coordination with relevant authorities.
- Actively supporting investigations with regulatory bodies such as SCIB, FCIB, and CID.
- Providing strategic legal advice on company matters, including litigation decisions and risk management.
- Analyzing financial misconduct and fraud cases, while translating legal updates into practical guidance and training for business teams.
Personal Profile
- Should be an Attorney-at-Law of supreme Courts of Sri Lanka.
- Have minimum 3 years of experience – preferably 1-2 years as a private practitioner & 1-2 years in corporate sector.
- Able to resolve / provide solutions under minimum supervision. High level of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Knowledge in Criminal Law related to misappropriation, Criminal Breach of trust and other penal code offences.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English and Sinhala
