CONSULTANT

The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka), the pioneer in family planning and reproductive health services and education is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in the United Kingdom.

Introduction

FPASL is the implementation partner of the SPRINT (Sexual and Reproductive health in Humanitarian Settings) project, which is designed to provide life-saving SRH services to affected populations in times of disasters. The primary objective of the SPRINT Project is to ensure the successful implementation of the MISP (Minimum Initial Service Package) for SRH during emergency settings.

Two positions

The Assignment

The consultants will be responsible for conducting two-day MISP trainings on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) for government health professionals in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts

Required Experience

FPASL is looking for two consultants with a background of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Maternal and Neonatal Health. Sufficient knowledge in the implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package for SRH in Emergencies is required. This consultant should also possess proven education and previous experience in Emergency Coordination and Response, a thorough understanding in National, sub national and local level emergency response mechanisms, particularly related to the health sector.

  • 1. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, Healthcare and/or Disaster Management
  • 2. Education: Master's level or above in Healthcare, Sexual and Reproductive Health Disaster Management, or a related field
  • 3. Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in English, Sinhala and Tamil Languages
  • 4. Proficiency in health sector terminology in Sinhala and Tamil Languages
  • 5. In-depth understanding in MISP for SRHiE, health sector disaster management, coordination and response mechanisms in the Sri Lankan context as well as in the global context is required
  • 6. Previous experience in developing health-sector related training

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct the two-day Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) Training on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) for government health professionals in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
  • Develop and deliver presentations on the assigned training topics in line with the MISP for SRHiE training package and national guidelines.
  • Facilitate interactive learning sessions, including group discussions, case studies, practical exercises, and scenario-based simulations.
  • Provide technical expertise on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE), MISP implementation, emergency preparedness, coordination mechanisms, and health sector response.
  • Respond to technical questions raised by participants and provide clarification on MISP implementation in the Sri Lankan context.

Duration of the Consultancy

A period of 4 days from the date of signing the Consultancy Agreement.
