In line with our rapid expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Head – Indian Operations to lead, manage, and expand our business operations in India under the strategic partnership between Maliban Sri Lanka and Reliance Retail India. This pivotal role requires the individual to be based in India and will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to drive brand growth and market expansion.
Position Available: COMMERCIAL HEAD – INDIAN OPERATIONS
- Oversee and manage all business operations in India, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and objectives.
- Develop and implement business strategies to expand market presence and increase sales in the Indian market.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Production, and Supply Chain to achieve performance goals.
- Drive operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, distributors, retailers, and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies tailored to the Indian consumer market.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, product development, and portfolio expansion in biscuits and chocolate categories.
- Monitor financial performance, control budgets, and ensure sustainable profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the food industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale operations in India.
- The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in the food industry, specifically biscuits and chocolate, with a strong ability to drive growth, operational excellence, and profitability.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in sales growth, market development, and operational management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive market environment.
