AUTOCAD DRAFTSMAN – MEP
LOCATION: Colombo
We are in the process of seeking a competent and committed individual to play a dynamic role as AutoCAD Draftsman – MEP. You will mainly be responsible in preparation of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing / Design Work / Quantity take off / Preparation of As Built drawings etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create AutoCAD designs and shop drawings based on client requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and ensure that designs are consistent with as-built conditions.
- Update and revise final sketches based on site inspections and design changes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and design specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings for construction, including layouts, elevations, and sections.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, local codes, and company guidelines.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering plans to create detailed MEP drawings.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve design discrepancies and provide technical support during construction.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documents.
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation and presentation materials for customer reviews.
- Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD software and industry trends to ensure the highest quality of design work.
- Provide support in the preparation of material take-offs and cost estimates based on the finalized designs.
- Ensure timely completion of all tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Participate in project coordination meetings to discuss and resolve any design-related issues.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard drawing templates and libraries for MEP systems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Age between 25 – 40 years.
- HND, NCT, or any equivalent qualification in AutoCAD Draftsman – MEP or similar industry qualification is acceptable.
- Minimum 03-05 years' work experience in a similar capacity in Diesel Power Generator field, Construction or similar industry is a must.
- Be able to work as a Draftsman with minimum supervision by creating drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and according to the site measurements.
- Need to be a good team player to work with the Managers and supervisors to produce and finalise drawings.
- Should be willing to work extra hours whenever needed.
- Should be able to cost estimates and undertake site visits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
