Assistant Manager – Procurement

Location - Bandaragama | Millaniya (Transport provided via specific routes)

Uswattee Essential Foods (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a proactive, strategic, and results-driven Assistant Manager – Procurement to lead and manage procurement operations while ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and other operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee supplier sourcing strategies by identifying, evaluating, and building strong relationships with reliable vendors
  • Develop and manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure value for money
  • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, and indirect items to support uninterrupted production
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and risk mitigation opportunities
  • Coordinate with Production, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align procurement with business needs
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise and guide procurement team members to achieve departmental objectives

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems
