PLANNING EXECUTIVE (Materials Planning)
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and results-driven Planning Executive to join our Supply Chain / Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that the right materials arrive at the exact right time, in the right quantities, minimising both stockouts and excess inventory costs.
This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP system proficiency, supplier management capabilities, and a proactive approach to materials planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor material requirements and delivery schedules to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and other production-related items while proactively identify potential material shortages or delivery delays.
- Maintain and update Material Requirement Planning (MRP) data within the ERP system, including lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and supplier pricing.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Stores, Shipping and Suppliers to resolve discrepancies of incoming material and prevent production interruptions.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend optimal stock levels to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Analyze material consumption trends and forecast future requirements to maintain accurate safety stock levels.
- Maintain up to date current Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accuracy of system data.
- Coordinate BOM revisions and engineering change implementations with relevant departments.
- Generate planning, inventory, and procurement reports for management review.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in planning and inventory management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Materials Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Inventory Management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Syteline, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar).
- Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
- Knowledge of BOM management and production planning processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
