Job overview:
The Branch Manager leads the branch’s business strategy, aligning it with the bank’s overall objectives to increase profitability and market share. This role involves developing sales targets, managing staff performance, and maintaining and sustaining customer relationships to ensure high satisfaction levels.
The Branch Manager also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to drive business growth and operational efficiency. Through strategic leadership and effective people management, this role aims to enhance the branch’s contribution to the bank’s success.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate:
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in business management/ Finance Management or relevant field from a recognized university or professional body.
- Diploma in Banking & Finance or Diploma in Applied Banking & Finance (DABF) from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Banking/ Finance sector.
- Sound knowledge of the demographics in the respective areas and possession of good rapport with various business communities, government & private institutions, and social organizations.
- Proven track record in sales management within a multiproduct environment.
- Excellent linguistic proficiency in Sinhala, English, and Tamil, relevant to the geographical area of the branch.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good business planning, analytical skills and strategic thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Leadership skills & ability to influence.
- Team building and motivational skills.
- Time management skills.
- IT Literacy.
