Internship, Apprenticeship and Junior Associate Opportunities
John Wilson Partners, Attorneys-at-Law & Notaries Public, is inviting applications for the following positions:
Positions Available
Junior Associate / Junior Lawyer
We are looking for an Attorney-at-Law with 1 to 3 years of experience, preferably with exposure to commercial law, litigation, drafting, research and instructing work.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong legal research skills
- Previous experience in instructing work
- Good drafting and communication skills
- A sound understanding of legal procedure
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work responsibly under supervision
Interns
Suitable for candidates interested in law, legal support, company secretarial work or administration, including candidates studying law, waiting to enroll at Sri Lanka Law College, or studying management, business, economics, administration or related fields.
Apprentices
Suitable for candidates eligible to complete the mandatory 6-month apprenticeship programme required by Sri Lanka Law College. Current Law College students may also be considered if the programme does not conflict with class schedules.
Areas of Work / Exposure
Commercial law, litigation, company law, company secretarial work, intellectual property, immigration, conveyancing, notarial work and legal or administrative support.
General Requirements
- Fluency in English is essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work responsibly in a professional legal environment
General Information
Working hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Internship / Apprenticeship allowance: Rs. 10,000 per month travel allowance
Junior Associate salary: Based on experience and suitability
