CHIEF ENGINEER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all hotel facilities and equipment.
- Supervise and lead the Engineering and Maintenance team.
- Ensure the proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and other building systems.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee repair and renovation projects.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and statutory certifications.
- Manage departmental budgets and control maintenance expenses.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and government authorities when required.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and operational breakdowns.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree, Diploma, or Professional Qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or related field).
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in hotel engineering operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, generators, fire alarm systems, and building maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems will be an added advantage.
