MANAGER – MEN'S NATIONAL TEAMS
Sri Lanka Cricket is seeking a highly competent and experienced professional to serve as the Manager - Men’s National Teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all team operations, logistics, compliance, and administrative functions to ensure the smooth functioning of national team activities.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to team rules, Code of Conduct, and disciplinary standards
- Coordinate all team logistics including travel, accommodation, visa arrangements, insurance, and transport
- Manage team equipment, clothing, and supplies, ensuring timely provision and proper accountability
- Liaise with travel agents, service providers, and relevant authorities for efficient tour arrangements
- Oversee financial processes including per diems, imprest funds, and tour-related documentation
- Coordinate training schedules, internal and external logistics, and team management meetings
- Ensure player welfare, safety, and security in consultation with relevant consultants and authorities
- Act as the key administrative liaison between players, coaching staff, support staff, and management
- Prepare and submit accurate reports and financial documentation within stipulated timelines
- Address operational issues and ensure effective communication across all team stakeholders
The ideal candidate should be:
- Male candidate above 35 years of age
- Strong and respected leader with the ability to manage elite athletes in a high-performance international environment
- Emotionally intelligent, empathhetic, and highly professional, with the maturity and resilience required to manage player and staff dynamics
- Effective communicator with strong diplomatic and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to enforce team discipline and standards while maintaining fairness, respect, and player welfare
- Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operational challenges
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in all dealings
- Sound knowledge of budgeting, financial controls, and procurement processes
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Sinhala languages
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours as required by team schedules
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Professional Qualification in Sports Management/ Business Administration/ Human Resources or a related field from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and administrative systems
- Considerable experience in sports administration, team management, event management, or a related field
- Experience in working with national teams, professional sports organizations, or high-performance environments will be a distinct advantage
- Proven experience in coordinating logistics, travel arrangements, accommodation, and operational requirements for teams
- Experience in stakeholder management and liaising with coaches, athletes, officials, service providers, and governing bodies
- Previous playing experience at club, provincial, first-class, national, or international level will be an added advantage
