Join our Team as a Development Merchandiser
Location - Colombo 3, Sri Lanka.
Job Role
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising team from the initial development phase through to final handover, ensuring full alignment at every stage.
- Follow up on all developments to ensure samples are completed and shipped on time, maintaining a clear focus on deadlines throughout the process.
- Develop the seasonal fabric hanger collection in line with customer and design requirements.
- Work directly with fabric mills to develop sample yardages, applying strong fabric knowledge to ensure quality and suitability of materials.
- Request and manage lab dips, strike-offs, and base hangers in a timely and organised manner.
- Monitor the progress of lab dips, base approvals, and the critical path, flagging and resolving delays proactively.
- Ensure all relevant development information is transferred accurately and on time to the bulk team, with a smooth handover being essential to maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Oversee sample development to confirm alignment with grade specifications and customer expectations.
- Drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance for both samples and bulk, ensuring the customer receives what is needed when it is needed.
Candidate Profile
- Degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 year of relevant work experience in a merchandising or apparel industry role.
- Good knowledge of fabrics is essential; experience in kidswear or babywear is a strong added advantage.
- Strong negotiation skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of ERP systems considered an added advantage.
