ASSISTANT MANAGER ENGINEERING

American Premium Water, the pioneer in Sri Lanka's bottled water industry & a market leader in the FMCG sector in Sri Lanka with a staff strength of over 1200, with an extended reach across Logistics & SCM, Construction, Polymer Packaging sectors within Sri Lanka as well as other Asian markets, is looking for Assistant Manager Engineering for immediate employment. The ideal candidate should be dynamic, highly motivated, and results oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities to minimize unexpected breakdowns and downtime.
  • Oversee spare parts scheduling and management, ensuring the right parts are available when needed.
  • Find practical ways to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
  • Lead and guide the maintenance team to ensure all tasks are completed safely and on time.
  • Support equipment installation, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and records for audits and reviews.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Continuously look for ways to make our maintenance processes more effective and reliable.

Requirements

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering or NDT in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ level 4 qualification + 6 years relevant experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a factory or industrial maintenance environment will be an added qualification
  • Good knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and factory machinery.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge on Mechanical systems and Electrical systems (PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, Servo Drives), pneumatic is essential.
  • Knowledge in TPM implementation is a plus.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
