ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
Roles And Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts and financial reports to support business decision-making.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in line with company objectives.
- Perform cost analysis and profitability evaluations of product lines, brands, and SKUs.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments.
- Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improvements.
- Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast) and present findings to senior management.
- Assist in pricing decisions, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards.
- Support the finance team during audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
- Implement financial models and tools to streamline planning and reporting processes.
- Preparation of Tax schedules on monthly basis and timely submission of Inland Revenue Departments.
Ideal Profile Qualification & Experiences
- Passed Finalist in CIMA, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka is a must.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the apparel sector.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a challenging environment.
