Associate Security Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor, secure, and maintain websites built on WordPress, including plugins, themes, updates, and access control.
- Help secure .NET applications deployed in Microsoft Azure, working alongside developers throughout the build and deployment lifecycle.
- Carry out regular vulnerability scans, patching, and security updates across web and cloud environments.
- Configure and manage security tooling such as web application firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates, and backup and recovery processes.
- Review code and configurations for common security weaknesses (e.g. OWASP Top 10) and recommend fixes.
- Monitor for suspicious activity, investigate incidents, and support incident response and recovery.
- Manage user access, authentication, and permissions across our platforms and Azure environment.
- Keep clear documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.
- Stay current with emerging threats and security best practices, and share that knowledge with the team.
Candidate Profile
- 1–2 years of experience in Cybersecurity, IT, Web Security, or Cloud-related roles.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field and/or relevant industry certification.
- Knowledge of web security risks, WordPress security, Microsoft Azure, and .NET applications.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and access management.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Familiarity with Azure security services, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Key Vault, and Network Security Groups.
- Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell or Bash.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, or Cyber Essentials.
- Exposure to vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
