Accountant/ Finance Manager

Position Overview

The Accountant / Finance Manager is responsible for managing the full financial operations of a small but growing construction, manufacturing, and aluminum fit-out company. This hybrid role combines hands-on accounting with financial oversight, ensuring accurate reporting, strong cash flow management, and effective support to the operational and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting: Manage the full accounting function, prepare financial reports, and ensure timely month-end/year-end closing and statutory compliance.
  • Project & Job Costing: Monitor project costs, budgets, profitability, and revenue recognition while supporting project financial performance.
  • Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting: Oversee production costing, inventory management, stock reconciliations, and procurement cost analysis.
  • Cash Flow, AP/AR & Banking: Manage cash flow, banking operations, payables, receivables, customer invoicing, and collections.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning: Prepare budgets and forecasts, provide financial analysis, and support business planning and tender evaluations.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements while maintaining effective financial controls and governance.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a small or medium sized business.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of project costing, inventory, and cashflow management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, or ERP).
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work independently.
