Head of Finance - Business Partnering

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute finance leader capable of influencing business decisions while maintaining strong financial governance. The role requires a balance of strategic business partnering, financial discipline, and leadership to drive sustainable growth and profitability
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner with Cluster Heads, CEOs, and senior leadership teams to drive business performance and strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and business growth.
- Challenge and influence business decisions through data-driven financial analysis.
- Participate in strategic planning, investment evaluations, and business transformation.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Monitor business performance against budgets, forecasts, and key financial targets.
- Analyze revenue, profitability, margins, working capital, and cost structures.
- Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost optimization, and productivity improvements.
Financial Control & Governance
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Review and challenge financial transactions, investments, and expenditure approvals.
- Monitor financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Performance Management
- Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs across business units.
- Drive accountability for financial performance through regular business reviews.
- Support CEOs and Cluster Heads in achieving profitability, cash flow, and growth targets.
- Lead monthly performance reviews and management reporting processes.
Commercial Finance
- Evaluate pricing strategies, business cases, capital investments, and commercial agreements.
- Provide financial support for new business opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Assess the financial viability of projects and investments.
Working Capital & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor cash flow performance and working capital efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to improve inventory management, receivables, and payables.
- Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop finance business partnering teams.
- Foster strong relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- MBA or postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 12 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior finance leadership or finance business partnering role.
- Experience partnering with CEOs, Business Heads, or Cluster Leaders.
- Experience within diversified conglomerates, FMCG, Manufacturing, Retail, Distribution, or Consumer Goods sectors will be an added advantage.
