ASSISTANT PLANNING MANAGER
Apparel Planning Operations
Join a dynamic, Australian-owned sweater manufacturing business at the forefront of the apparel industry. Located in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone (EPZ), we combine premium Australian design with high-caliber Sri Lankan production.
You will be responsible for leading production planning activities to ensure efficient capacity utilization and on-time delivery of customer orders. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to develop production schedules, monitor execution, resolve planning challenges, and drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and oversee production plans to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
- Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, Procurement, and other departments to align capacity with customer requirements.
- Monitor production progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Optimize production scheduling to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and maximize capacity utilization.
- Lead and guide the planning team while ensuring accurate and timely planning data.
- Analyze planning performance and prepare reports to support management decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 05–08 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing or garment environment, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and scheduling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
