Operations Manager
Factory (Minuwangoda)
Ajax Engineers Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Browns Group, is a strong player in Aluminium fabrication and installation in high-rise buildings with over 30 years of experience. With its 1,000 sq. state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, Ajax offers unique, customised products to meet clients' specifications. We are looking for a self-motivated, result-driven individual with a proven track record to join Ajax.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily factory operations and production activities
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and resource utilization to achieve operational targets
- Drive process improvements and operational excellence initiatives
Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor raw material availability and coordinate procurement requirements
- Ensure effective inventory management while minimizing material wastage
- Work closely with stores and procurement teams to support uninterrupted operations
Project Coordination & Administration
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Site Teams
- Monitor project progress and ensure seamless coordination between factory and site operations
- Resolve operational issues impacting project delivery timelines
- Prepare operational reports, production summaries, and performance analyses
- Monitor operational costs and support budget management initiatives
- Report factory performance and key operational metrics to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Experience in Aluminium Fabrication, Steel Fabrication, Construction, or Manufacturing industries will be highly advantageous
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills
- Good understanding of production planning, quality systems, inventory management, and workplace safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems will be an added advantage
