Commis (Teppanyaki)

Crown & Champa Resorts is seeking a passionate and skilled Teppanyaki Commis to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Japanese cuisine, particularly Teppanyaki cooking techniques, and demonstrate dedication to quality, consistency, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications and experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role, specializing in Teppanyaki or Japanese cuisine.
  • Knowledge of Teppanyaki cooking techniques, knife skills, and ingredient preparation.
  • Basic understanding of food safety hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work long hours while standing in a not kitchen environment.

Task and responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Teppanyaki dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and courteous manner during Teppanyaki presentations, creating a memorable dining experience.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining proper storage of ingredients.
  • Work closely with senior chefs and team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Continuously develop Teppanyaki cooking skills, presentation techniques, and product knowledge.
