We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant, Security to join Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is Sri Lanka's largest hotel owner with a portfolio of 17 Hotels and Resorts in both Sri Lanka and Maldives including the US$ 1.4 Billion investment in Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow property-specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., medical emergencies, natural disasters).
- Always act vigilant and proactive, respond immediately to all incidents as per the incident procedures, and report them to the immediate supervisor to resolve any security issues in a timely and discreet manner.
- Conduct full security patrols of the property as directed and report all irregularities to ensure the early detection and mitigation of any risk.
- Implement emergency operational plans and Crisis management plans, when required, to ensure rapid and effective responses to any incident and crisis.
- Monitor and control all the entrances, restrict access to unauthorized visitors and report such attempted breaches so that the property environment is maintained securely.
- Screen and control the access of vehicles and delivery trucks to the property premises to ensure only authorized vehicles can enter.
- Enter all incidents into the security reporting system and ensure they are updated as and when required so that all security-related information is accounted for and maintained up to date.
- Ensure that all lost and found property is handed over to recording and storage in a timely manner so that it can be returned upon request.
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, permitting entry controls traffic by directing drivers.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrence, and surveillance activities by interviewing witnesses, obtaining signatures.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Patrol property on foot, securing personnel, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter in all weather conditions.
- Investigate and take appropriate lawful action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents.
- Control and monitor surveillance equipment and perform building and equipment inspections.
- Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry, restraining trespassers, and direct heavy traffic during start and end of business hours.
- Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Patrol property on foot, securing personnel, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter in all weather conditions.
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, permitting entry controls traffic by directing drivers.
- Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures.
- Secure all doors, windows, and exits, depending on shift.
- Ensure BCP (business continuity plan) is practiced regularly.
- Quick response to disastrous situations.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:
- Previous experience in police or armed forces will be considered as an added advantage.
- A strong understanding of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
- The ability to keenly observe and identify potential security threats.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- A professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees and visitors.
- Ability to perform security patrols and respond to emergencies.
