JOB PROFILE
- Vendor & Legacy Integration Strategy (Primary Focus) :
- Design the integration architecture that connects modern AI models (hosted on GCP / Vertex AI) with the Bank's legacy on-premise systems (Core Banking, LMS).
- Act as the technical gatekeeper for external vendors. Validate their API specifications, security protocols and deployment requirements to ensure they fit the Bank's infrastructure standards.
- Architect the API layers (REST / gRPC / SOAP) and event-driven patterns (message queues) required to feed real-time data to vendor models and return decisions to the bank's front-end apps.
- Industrializing Internal R&D :
- Collaborate with the AI & ML Architect to take successful internal R&D prototypes and refactor them into deployable, production-grade microservices.
- Oversee the containerization of internal tools to ensure they can be managed, patched, and scaled by the IT operations team.
- Manage the operational runtime environment where these integrations live, bridging the gap between the Bank's on-premise data center and the cloud platforms.
- Solution Security & Performance :
- Security Compliance : Ensure all AI integrations, specifically those handling sensitive financial data, meet strict banking security standards (encryption, authentication, OIDC / OAuth2).
- Latency Management : Optimize the inference path to ensure that integrating AI into an end-to-end customer journey does not introduce unacceptable system latency.
- Fault Tolerant Design : Design fallback mechanisms (circuit breakers) so that if an AI model or Vendor API goes down, the core banking processes continue with minimal disruption.
APPLICANT'S PROFILE
- Experience & Background :
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- 8+ Years Total Experience in Software Architecture or Senior Engineering.
- 4+ Years of experience in AI and/or data related roles.
- Must have a proven track record of system integration in a complex enterprise environment (Banking / Telco / Insurance).
- Experience working with Hybrid Architectures (connecting Cloud services to On-Premise/Legacy systems) is mandatory.
- Technical Competencies :
- Integration Patterns : Expert knowledge of APIs (REST, SOAP), API Gateways (e.g., Apigee, Kong) and Message Brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ or Pub/Sub).
- Language Stack : Strong proficiency in Java / Spring Boot (standard for banking backends) and Python (standard for AI) and experience with AI tooling and libraries.
- Cloud & DevOps : Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Cloud Run and Kubernetes.
- Vendor Management : Experience technically reviewing and approving third party software solutions.
- Mindset & Soft Skills :
- Pragmatic Builder : Understands that the Bank is not a software house. Prefers robust, secure configuration and integration over writing custom code from scratch.
- Diplomacy : Ability to push back on vendors when their technical requirements are unsafe or unrealistic and ability to explain technical constraints to business stakeholders.
