The Colombo Swimming Club, one of Sri Lanka's premier members' clubs, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the below positions.

  • Front Office Receptionist
  • Kitchen Stewards
  • Cold Kitchen – Commis
  • Cold Kitchen – Chef De Partie
  • F&B Waiters

FRONT OFFICE RECEPTIONISTS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome members and guests in a professional and friendly manner while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Handle front desk operations including member inquiries, reservations, and guest assistance
  • Manage cashiering duties Coordinate and manage facility bookings and reservations
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless member experience
  • Handle telephone calls, emails, and general front office correspondence

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Front Office or Reception role, preferably in the hospitality, hotel, club, or service industry
  • Experience in cashiering, reservations handling, and front desk operations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with hotel or reservation systems will be an added advantage

KITCHEN STEWARDS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Wash & sanitize dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment and cook ware
  • Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of waste
  • Assist in receiving and storing supplies and inventory
  • Support kitchen staff in maintaining a safe and organized working environment
  • Perform general cleaning duties assigned

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, club or hospitality environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on a roster basis.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning standards.

COLD KITCHEN COMMIS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hygiene and food safety in accordance with standards.
  • Support the Junior Sous Chef with daily operations.
  • Ensure workstation is kept clean and organized.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of cold kitchen preparations.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

CHEF DE PARTIE – COLD KITCHEN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present cold dishes of the highest standard.
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety in accordance with accepted international standards.
  • Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in their daily operations.
  • Ensure the workstation is kept clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with the team to contribute to menu development and seasonal offerings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a cold kitchen & previous working experience in a star-class hotel be a definite advantage.
  • Strong presentation skills with an eye for detail.
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP).
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and public and mercantile holidays.
  • A diploma from a hotel school would be a definite advantage.

F&B WAITER

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide courteous and efficient food & beverage service to the members and guests.
  • Take & process F&B orders accurately
  • Serve food & beverages in accordance with the Club standards and procedures.
  • Ensure tables and dining areas are clean, organized and properly set.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, grooming and customer service.
  • Assist with banquet, event and function services as required
  • Comply with all food safety, health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, Club or hospitality environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on a roster basis
  • Basic knowledge of food & beverage service standards
