Assistant Front Desk Manager /Duty Manager

Taj Samudra Colombo, a renowned luxury hotel, is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals to join our esteemed Front Office team. We currently have openings for experienced Assistant Front Desk Manager /Duty Manager to contribute to the success and excellence of our facilities

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Front Office Manager in overseeing day-to-day front office operations.
  • To have detailed knowledge about the Hotel, product/services & room inventory.
  • To ensure smooth arrivals, departures, and guest satisfaction by coordinating pre-registration formalities.
  • To check on VIP reservations and extend appropriate VIP courtesies.
  • To allocate rooms for arriving guests as per preferences.
  • To monitor up-to-date information on room rates, current promotions, offers, and packages.
  • To maintain guest folios as per billing instructions.
  • To assist in managing the front desk team, including rosters and training.
  • To supervise coordination with housekeeping for room readiness.
  • To compile, communicate, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statistics.
  • To ensure accuracy in handling the guest ledger and accountability for daily transactions.
  • To oversee foreign exchange procedures as per regulations.
  • To assist in handling telephone operations and front office inquiries per standards.
  • To ensure guest lockers and valuables are securely maintained.
  • To conduct room key counts and ensure shift handovers are accurate.
  • To maintain proper guest records, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • To follow house rules, policies, and ensure guest handling without bias or prejudice.
  • To ensure grooming and hygiene standards are adhered to by the team.
  • To manage staff motivation and resolve guest complaints in the absence of the Front Office Manager.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory Experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a Star Class hotel, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a Front Office Executive, Supervisor or Managerial role.
  • Previous experience with Opera Cloud PMS will be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with attention to detail.
