Join our Team as a Director/General Manager - Technical
Location - Colombo 3, Sri Lanka.
Job Role
- Define and lead the technical roadmap to deliver best-in-class quality, speed, and cost competitiveness aligned with global buyer expectations.
- Establish a “right-first-time” culture, ensuring consistent achievement of buyer standards, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness across all operations.
- Drive industrial engineering, lean initiatives, and fabric optimization to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and protect margins in a competitive export environment.
- Ensure seamless execution from sampling through bulk production, with strong control over fit, construction, and technical accuracy to meet critical paths.
- Optimize pattern engineering, marker efficiency, and sample room capability using digital tools (CAD) to improve speed, precision, and fabric yield.
- Partner with Merchandising, Production, and Planning to consistently achieve on-time delivery and fast response requirements of clients.
- Develop technical teams, embed continuous improvement and innovation, and strengthen capabilities in sustainability and advanced manufacturing practices.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory agencies. Understand business requirements, address technical challenges, and drive consensus on technical decisions. Serve as a technical advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations related to the apparel sector.
Candidate Profile
- 12 plus years experience in a Senior Management Role on Technical, Quality and IE aspects.
- Relevant Academic/professional qualifications.
- Experience in Industrial Innovation related to Clothing Manufacturing/Finishing
- Strategic management level involvement in productivity/Quality/Process improvements in product Development and Manufacturing processes
- Sourcing/Buying Office, Overseas experience of at least 5 + years
- Experience of working directly and communicating with Customers and driving customer expectations.
