Procurement Engineer
Permanent position
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- Age below 35 years
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in international procurement and sourcing
- Strong knowledge of international markets and supplier management
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material requirements
- Hands-on experience in preparing, evaluating, and managing tender processes
- Experience in spare parts procurement and trading
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP procurement systems will be an added advantage
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal departments and external suppliers
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and spare parts from local and international suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Prepare and manage tenders, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, and warehouse teams to support operational requirements.
- Office transport will be provided within Colombo.
