MOTOR ENGINEER

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct vehicle inspections and assess accidental damage to determine the extent of repairs required.
- Evaluate repair estimates and recommend cost-effective repair methods in line with company policies.
- Investigate the cause of vehicle damage and identify any potential fraud or policy discrepancies.
- Authorize repair estimates and monitor repair progress to ensure quality standards and timely completion.
- Liaise with customers, repair garages, surveyors, and service providers to facilitate smooth claim settlements.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate inspection and claims documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to claims teams on complex motor insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements while delivering excellent customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS & PRE-REQUIREMENTS
- B.Sc (Eng) / B Tech. (OUSL) / IESL / MIE(S) or equivalent related to the functional area from a University/ institute approved by the UGC with 08 Years' post qualification experience.
- Hands on experience in motor vehicle inspection, accident assessment, or motor insurance claims.
- Sound technical knowledge of vehicle repair methods, accident damage assessment, and estimating repair costs.
- Experience working with insurance companies, authorized repair garages, or vehicle inspection organizations will be an added advantage.
- Valid Sri Lankan driving licence.
